info Event Summary
An authentic, low-cost street-level battle series bringing consistent Hip Hop energy to the heart of Saigon—built by the community, for the community.
Project Overview & Blueprint
Initiated and driven by RayGunz, Lenin Practice Battles is a recurring grassroots event series designed to provide a consistent, trusted training ground for Ho Chi Minh City's Hip Hop scene. Operating out of Bach Tung Diep Park (Saigon Ward, Dist. 1), the project aims to bridge the gap between casual practice sessions and high-stakes major tournaments.
Currently tracking towards Vol. 04 ("BreakIlluminati"), the series runs 1 to 2 times per month, creating a reliable rhythm that keeps the local scene active, sharp, and connected.
The Event Experience
Each volume gathers between 30 to 80 dancers, enthusiasts, and spectators directly on the park concrete. The atmosphere is centered around ciphering, raw exchanges, and testing new skills in a safe, supportive environment.
To keep the energy fresh and challenge the community, the battle categories constantly rotate:
- chevron_right
1vs1 & 2vs2 Brackets — Classic breaking dynamics
- chevron_right
7-to-Smoke — High-endurance test
- chevron_right
Specialized Battles — Focusing purely on Footwork or Rocking
The "Winner-Takes-All" Community Economy
Lenin Practice Battles runs on a highly transparent, zero-profit model that relies on collective street backing:
- toll
Crowd-Funded Prize Pool: Entry or spectating costs just 30k–50k VND per person—the literal price of a local bowl of Phở. 100% of this collected cash goes straight into the winner's hands.
- toll
Fixed Operational Overhead: Every single volume runs on a strict budget of 1.5M VND, going directly toward gas and food support for the Deejay, MC, and Judge.
- toll
Zero Executive Overhead: Venue logistics, planning, and management are entirely handled independently by RayGunz—no administrative budget cuts, no hidden fees.
Social & Cultural Impact
By offering an entry fee that anyone can afford, Lenin Practice Battles serves as a "green," positive alternative for local youth, steering them away from negative habits and into a productive, creative discipline. It is a vital foundation block for Saigon's breaking scene, providing the exact infrastructure needed to level up local dancing, emceeing, and DJing from the ground up.
OUR MAIN DJ FOR THIS LOCATION
B-BOY/DJ XÈO
DJ Xèo started his journey with a pair of sneakers on the concrete as a B-Boy. Driven by a deep love for the breaks and the rhythm, he stepped behind the turntables to master the craft of DJing. Today, he seamlessly balances both worlds. Because he knows exactly what it feels like to burn energy on the battle floor, DJ Xèo has a unique instinct for selecting and mixing the perfect, hard-hitting tracks that push dancers to their absolute limits.
AND EMCEE WE GOT
THANH TUNG DA EMCEE
The mic controller, the story teller.
Who love to put his rhythm in the cypher.
